Primula is a new natural skincare business based In Ireland

Hi I’m Cathy.

Primula comes from the name Primrose from the family of herbaceous plants.

Primula grew from my interest in complementary health.

I have worked as a holistic therapist for the last number of years. I am also a qualified yoga instructor. I specialise in aromatherapy and skincare. I have been making customised blends of face and body oils incorporating pure essential oils for my clients for over 5 years.

This led me to be become more and more interested in soaps and other products we put on our skin. After all the skin is the largest organ in the body so we need to take care of it. The general health of the skin is related directly to its moisture content – how much water it’s able to retain.

I researched the soap making process and decided the old fashioned method of cold process yield a far superior bar of soap. I undertook a course in soap making and the experimenting and passion grew from there!! I use only pure vegetable oils as tallow and lard (animal fats) used in all commercial soap can clog up the skin’s breathing system. Vegetable oils are generally extracted from nuts, seeds, and fruit.

Each batch of soap is handmade and hand cut with lots of unsaturated olive oil. Each batch is different; ingredients include olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, peach kernel oil, castor oil, rice bran oil and pure herbs of chamomile, calendula, lavender and rose. They all have pure essential oils for their fragrance and their therapeutic properties.

I have also studied the production of natural skincare products and have attended courses both here and in the UK. Our products are made using pure organic ingredients and free from harmful chemicals and have not been genetically modified.

Feel free to contact me if you have any specific requirement. Trade enquires welcome.
